I have a sweet darling friend that LOVES parasols. So as a surprise I decided to make her an altered doll that sorta kinda resembles her a bit. :)
She even lives in California, so this perfumed talc tin was even more perfect to use.
A girl has to protect her fair delicate skin with her parasol. hee! hee!
I'll be making several more of these type altered dolls for my shop real soon!
Now, I must share with you some beautiful work from a VERY talented lady.
A little over a month ago my dear hubby complained of us not having a "bread box" in the kitchen. I tend to cram all the breads in a cabinet. So after he complained one too many times I decided that I needed to invest in one for the kitchen. However…..Im not going to have just any ole' boring bread box in my kitchen. If it's going to be displayed it MUST be pretty and fit in with my decor. 😉
So, I went to Ebay, purchased a used worn large wooden bread box and shipped it to Penny Carlson of Lavender Hill Studio. I bought a gorgeous mosaic buffet piece from Penny about two years ago. Her work is exquisite! So, I decided to commission Penny to mosaic my bread box and turn it into a soft and pretty shabby cottage looking breadbox.
I am BEYOND thrilled with how it turned out!!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!!
What I love more than anything is Penny used the Homer Laughlin plates on the breadbox that I just happen to have and use daily!
You can see more of Penny's work by skipping on over and visiting her. Tell her I sent ya! 🙂
