Hello sweet friends! WELCOME! Yes, the hot summer is OFFICIALLY here and you know what goes hand in hand with Summer???? You got it!!!! ICE CREAM!!!!!!
Do you have fond childhood memories of the sweet melodic music the ice cream truck would play while passing thru your neighborhood? I sure do!!! There I was begging Mom & Dad to please let me have some change for ice cream. I was always worried that he would come and go before I had a chance to run out the door with my change in hand. I always made it to truck just in time and short of breath, but happy to look up and see so many yummy different flavors of ice cream to choose from. Would it be an Orange push up, Bottle rocket, Snowcone, Creamsicle, or Nutty Butty? So many to choose from!
Ice Cream and summer fun go hand in hand. That's why I want to celebrate by inviting you to my Ice Cream Social. I would love for you to join me and participate by telling me what is your FAVORITE ice cream flavor, topping, cone or no cone? Also, what is you best ice cream childhood memory? Do you love soft serve ice cream from Dairy Queen? Banana splits? Hot fudge sundaes? Have fun and get your children and grandchildren to join in on the fun. Set up a ice cream parlor at your kitchen table with all the sugary fixin's. Do you have vintage ice cream memorabilia, items or decorations you want to share with us?
Grant, Vivian and I will be hosting a fun ice cream party and we want you to join us!!! We'll be setting up our own little make-shift ice cream parlor. :) Have fun and get creative!!! Take lots of pics!!!

What a great idea. I was the same way with the ice cream truck…nervous I’d miss it. I use to get the ice cream with the gumball in the bottom. Forget the name. My DQ favorite was the kind with the caramel hard shell.
Now, I’m strictly Coldstone Cake Batter, with Peanut Butter Cups, and Butterfinger bars mashed in, topped with rainbow jimmies!!
YES!! YES!! the grandbabies could do this EVERYDAY!!! We are IN!!!

This sounds like so much fun. My kids are in college but what the heck – they still love ice cream. We had an ice cream man who came to our nieghborhood. His name was Lee ๐ I got the Bomber Pop, red, white and blue. It cost a quarter. Am I dating myself? My favorite is still a hot fudge sundae. I heard Krispy Kreme is going to start carrying one. Oh Lord help me.

oh… for those who still have one in their town or can remember Shoney’s, they still give you a hot fudge cake and sing to you on your birthday. It is embarrassing to have the whole waitstaff singing but it’s worth it because the devils food cake, vanilla ice cream and hot fudge sauce are still as yummy as ever!!

Jenn, This is so cute! My little Christian and I will need to go and get some special ice cream and join in the party!! Hi Jenn – What a great idea! Unfortunately I’ll be out of town (we’re driving over to Forks, the “home” of Twilight, for the day) But please know I’ll be checking in to see your party the minute I get home! If you cut me I’d bleed ice cream – rocky road!
Count me in too, Jenn! My boys will love this but will care nothing for the pics so we’ll see how this turns out.
My absolute favorite ice cream now is a hot fudge sundae from DQ, way back it was probably just plain old chocolate. Back when I was little DQ had bday parties and every year my brother and I would have our parties there, ice cream, cake and tons of games that the staff hosted in a separate room. I still have pics, will try to find them and post abt. it.
My favorite memory of ice cream is when my grandma would bring out the icecream maker and we would peel peaches to add to the homemade vanilla, can you say YUMMY?!?! Every summer we would crank that machine for what seemed like hours for that scrumptious peach icecream. I miss those days of spending the summers in Gray with her; the ice cream, planting day lillies, crocheting, painting and going to shop at Zayre…oh those were the days! Thanks for reminding me of those times, Jenn!!
