It’s been a long time coming….
After nearly 9 years of going up and down the basement stairs of my home to do the household laundry I FINALLY have the laundry mudroom of my dreams!
Are you ready to see the BEFORE????
The before was actually an covered small outdoor patio directly off of our porte-cochere.
Our contractor closed off the walls so we could convert the small patio into our laundry mudroom.
We never used the small patio space so it made sense to close it off and utilize it.
Why did it take nine long years to finally move my laundry room from the basement?
Well, all it took was me slipping and falling down the basement stairs one day with a pile of laundry
in my arms for my husband to say “Oh S*#@!!!. I best we do something NOW to fix this situation. 😉
The results turned our better than I could have ever imagined!
Our door from the garage to the mudroom.
I commissioned the lovely and super talented Debi Coules to hand paint my Hayslip Cottage sign.
She did a gorgeous job! I absolutely love it!
The hall tree I found at the Big Peach Antiques Mall. It was a dark mahogany wood that I painted and added pretty shabby appliques from Do It Yourself Chic.
I knew from the very beginning that I wanted pale mint green walls with black and white tile floors.
The paint is called “Mint Fizz” by Behr paint.
I have storage baskets for umbrellas and linens.
While the cute lamb planter hold my car keys.
The candy apple red machines look GREAT in the laundry room!
The cabinets are Thomasville cabinetry from Home Depot.
Of course I added pink depression knobs!
The floral tole chandelier I purchased on Ebay.
I love my drying rack.
I purchased it from Ballard Designs.
I had fun decorating the room with vintage laundry items from the past.
This old washboard makes the perfect magnet holder!
Im starting to collect old laundry ad’s from the 50’s.
I thought they would be fun to frame and hang up.
I had my contractor custom build this bead board cabinet.
It’s perfect to hold laundry items and collectables.
The pink elephant planter hold safety pins and the clear jar is for hubbies loose pocket change that I always manage to fish out from his pockets.
Old tin containers and packaging.
How adorable is this pink W&D?
Lastly, I have to show and tell this book that I found on Ebay.
I don’t know about you but I always wear a big formal dress and fancy updo when doing my laundry. 😉
I cannot even begin to describe how nice it is to finally have a real laundry room that’s bright, cheery, and super convenient.
It was long overdue but worth the wait!
Thanks for stopping by friends!

Jenn,
The mud room/ laundry room turned out fantastic. I only dream of having one completed in the future. My laundry is currently in the garage 🙁
Great job!! Miss you!
Looks great! It’s always nicer to do household chores in a space that is bright and cheery.
I just completed a master closet project (painting, new carpet, organizing) that I’ve wanted to do for the past 5 years. Now I’m wondering what took me so long! It looks and feels so much better.
Thanks for sharing with us. 🙂

Jenn! OMG! It’s amazing!!!!!
But girlfriend, I hope you didn’t get hurt falling down the stairs?
And I wanted to ask you – what is the thing on the right of your tap? You’ve got the spout and hot and cold tap and there’s a thing on the right, what is it? It looks like a periscope!?
And yeah, I totally see you doing your laundry in a long formal gown with an up-do!
Gorgeous job girlfriend xxx
Love your precious room. Just adorable. With a cheerful space like that, laundry is a pleasure not a chore. Thanks for sharing.

How wonderful for you! Good things come to those who wait!
I love the mixing up of the red and pink. That’s what I’m doing these days. I’m glad to see that you added a little elephant planter because every laundry room needs that! 😉
I had a basement laundry once and it helped keep me in shape but it wasn’t fun when I was in a hurry!
♥
It’s all just darling!
Where is the hall tree from? Did you build it? Adorable!!
Hi Teri!
I bought hall tree at an antique store and I painted it myself. I added a few shabby chic appliques and “TA~DA”. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by! xo
